Construction & Engineering classes teach basic and advanced skills in both Wood Working and Construction industries. The goal is for students to graduate with the skills to enter the construction industry as a career.
Engineering
STHS Engineering pathway provides college preparation & career opportunities in construction, automotive repair and engineering in order to launch careers where students problem solve and come up with creative solutions to today’s problems.

Construction & Engineering
Carpentry Essentials 1
Students will study basic woodworking skills (safety in the workplace, how to operate and use all machinery and tools) in order to build and complete woodworking projects.
Construction 2
Students will study & develop basic construction skills (basic framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, etc…) in order to advance to Construction 3.
Construction 3
Students will study all aspects of basic construction skills (framing, plumbing, electrical, roofing, etc…) in order to be ready to enter into the construction industry.

Automotive Engineering
Automotive Technology classes allow students the ability to achieve the skills necessary to gain employment in the automotive industry. In addition students will learn integrity, accountability and to autograph their work with excellence.
Small Engines
Students will study the internal combustion engine, workings and repair including proper and safe tool usage.
Auto Technology 1
Auto Tech 1 students will study the automobile and it’s related systems in order to learn how to perform basic car maintenance and repair.
Auto Technology 2
Auto tech 2 students will study specific mechanical and electronic systems of the automobile to further their knowledge and skills in car maintenance, diagnosis and repair.

Environmental Engineering
Environmental Engineering is designed to introduce students to Earth processes, environmental issues, human interactions with the environment, and the role of science. Topics include ecological principles, biodiversity, climate change, sustainability, energy, natural resource management, pollution, and conservation.
Environmental Engineering 1
The engineering process will be used to design solutions to decrease or diminish environmental impacts by studying alternative energy concepts, sustainable living, environmental concerns and how to use science to address environmental problems.
